I have been pondering how to tell my mother that I have a boyfriend. So I just wrote her an email telling her about this guy that I met, Nick. The e-mail was filled with sentences like “i understand if you don’t want to talk about it” and “i don’t know how you feel about………”

It was weird but it was fun. I never thought, in a million years that I could meet the parents of a guy I was dating. Usually people are either in the closet ( sometimes with good reasons) or you are not dating, just fooling around.

My mom responded to my e-mail. She shocked me in an amazing way. This is what she said: “I wish you all the best with your relationship – as long as you are happy – please take safety precautions with whatever you do – your life and health is precious to me – do things with limitations and don’t lose focus on your work and studies.”
