Born on August 30th in 1985 means that I will be turning 23 this year. I have already acheived what some people can’t in a lifetime. I am currently busy with my masters degree although still not sure what I want to write my thesis about. This past week has been a great week for me. I travelled to San Francisco by myself, with my money that I worked for and I didn’t ask anyone for permission. I will be going to Chicago soon. I have a great job. I have amazing friends from all over the world. It feels so good to be able to stand on my own like this and do what I want.

I have travelled thousands and thousands of kilometers across the Atlantic ocean chasing my dreams. I remember when I was a little boy dreaming of travelling the world and I worked towards that. It’s very rewarding doing the things you set yourself out to do. Like travelling to San Fran one day and actually doing that.

I feel so good about my life right now. I feel so independent and that I can do anything I set my mind to. I feel like life has endless possibilities. I also think that America in general tends to create  this “endless possibilities” feel with it’s big cities and big dreams and big cars and big houses and everything at the tips of your hands. I sometimes wish Americans could see their world through my eyes. They would realise just how blessed they are as a nation.

I wish I could share this feeling with my family and friends back home. Maybe some day I will. It all starts with a dream and then working towards realising that dream. So go on and dream, mine are slowly but surely coming true.
